Convert VHS Tapes to DVD or Media Files
Family memories are precious. Weddings, graduations, family vacations. Those photos and videos you took will always be cherished. However, due to changes in technology, you may not have been able to watch those old home movies in years…until now.
WPL has a Video Conversion Station available for customers to use, free of charge, at the Main Library.
With just a few clicks you can capture that family movie on that old VHS tape as media file or save it to a DVD. You’ll be watching and reliving those special family moments in no time.
How do I reserve a time?
Book your session online in the same way computer workstations are booked. Be sure to select "Main" and "VHS to DVD" when prompted in the drop-down menus.
Will someone teach me how to use the converter?
Our Tech Connect staff is here to offer you one-on-one assistance. Make your appointment online today.
We also have an instruction guide available online plus hard copies in the library.
How long is a session?
Each session is a maximum of 2 hours, although staff can extend the time if there is availability.
Is there a cost?
No, use of the video converter is free.
